Bridges

Missing teeth can affect your bite and your ability to chew. But perhaps more importantly, they can harm your self-confidence. So it’s vital that you replace missing teeth as soon as possible. A dental bridge can be the best way to do this.

What are dental bridges?

A dental bridge (sometimes called a fixed bridge) literally bridges the gap caused by one or more missing teeth.

The bridge itself is usually made up of two crowns, one on each side of the gap, with a false tooth (or set of teeth), which fits between. The crowns act as an anchor to hold the bridge firmly in place and can be fixed onto your natural teeth or dental implants.

Dental bridges can be made from gold, alloys, and porcelain. Which you choose can depend on whether the gap in your teeth affects your appearance as well as the overall cost.

If you have a missing tooth or teeth your dentist will discuss with you the different types of false teeth and which they think will be best for you.
