Dental Hygiene

Dental hygiene treatment is essential to help you achieve and maintain a healthy mouth. More adults lose teeth as a result of gum disease than as a result of tooth decay. So, a regular trip to the dental hygienist should be a part of your overall dental care.

What does dental hygiene treatment involve?

A dental hygienist has two key roles. They’ll usually start your appointment by giving your teeth a deep clean, removing any stubborn or difficult to reach plaque and tartar. This is called a ‘scale and polish’ and will leave your mouth feeling refreshed and renewed.

They will then show you how to remove plaque and tartar yourself and give you advice on how to keep your mouth feeling healthy between dental hygiene appointments.

Introducing Airflow

We now offer a brand new treatment called Airflow. In just one appointment it will leave your teeth feeling refreshingly clean and looking brighter.

Airflow is gentle, effective and thorough. It works by mixing a spray of air, a special polishing powder and a stream of water. It gets into all the nooks and crannies of your teeth to clean stains caused by tobacco, food and drink. And it removes plaque that has built up on your teeth and gums.
